Frequently asked questions

What Premium Furniture is, how we work, where the facts and photographs come from, and how to reach the desk.

Premium Furniture is an independent editorial journal and directory of premium European furniture, with an outdoor accent, written for the US reader. We map the houses, their collections, designers and materials, then point you to the maker. We do not sell furniture or publish prices.

About

An editorial desk, not a shop.

We document European design houses the way a specifier reads them: who makes a piece, what it is made of, who designed it, and how it weathers a real terrace. The directory stays neutral and complete; the digests are where we take an opinionated, curated view.

The journal is the freshness feed for the directory. Dispatches link out to the brand and designer profiles they mention, and those profiles link back to the latest coverage. Everything is free to read; a printed volume is planned four times a year by pre-order.

Frequently asked

Premium Furniture, answered.

What is Premium Furniture?

An independent editorial journal and directory of premium European furniture, with an outdoor accent, written for the US reader. We document the houses, their collections, designers and materials, and point you to the maker.

Is this a shop, can I buy furniture here?

No. We do not sell furniture and we hold no stock. We are an editorial directory and journal; every brand links to a profile that points you toward the maker and its authorised dealers.

Do you publish prices?

No. Premium outdoor pieces vary widely by collection, material and configuration, so we do not list prices. Contact a brand's authorised dealer for current pricing.

Which market do you cover?

The United States. Availability and lead times are framed for US buyers, while the houses themselves are European.

Which brands and designers do you cover?

European outdoor anchor houses such as Kettal, Dedon, Roda and Tribu, a wider roster of makers, and the designers behind the collections, for example Rodolfo Dordoni, Patricia Urquiola and Jean-Marie Massaud.

How do you choose the brands?

We focus on premium, design-led manufacturers rather than retailers, prioritising European outdoor houses with signature materials and named-designer collections, with a smaller premium-indoor branch for context.

How are the facts checked?

Collection names, designers, materials and dates are checked against the maker and published sources before they go live. What cannot be confirmed is left out.

Where do the photographs come from?

Official brand materials. Every image stays with its owner and is credited in the footer; we use them for editorial reference only.

What does the journal cover, and how often?

Industry news, design-fair dispatches such as Salone del Mobile, trend reports, material guides and brand stories. We publish as the industry moves, around fairs, launches and seasonal cycles.

Can I subscribe?

Yes. Use the form on this page to receive new dispatches by email; a printed volume is planned four times a year by pre-order. Journal updates only, no sales pressure.

Do you work with designers and architects?

Yes. We help the trade read specs, materials and US lead times, and we commission dispatches from the field. Reach the desk through the contact options below.

Are your recommendations sponsored?

No. There are no sponsored placements. We write only about the houses and pieces we judge worth the room.

How is the site organised?

Three sections: the brand directory, the designers behind the collections, and the journal, plus curated digests such as the luxury outdoor ranking and head-to-head comparisons.

How do I get in touch?

Use the links in the footer to reach the desk. A real person reads every message and replies within two working days.
